Privacy Policy

Data protection

We take the protection of your personal data very seriously. We treat your personal data confidentially and in accordance with the statutory data protection regulations and this privacy policy. The use of our website is generally possible without providing personal data. If personal data (such as, name, address or email addresses) are recorded in our website, this is always done on voluntary basis whenever possible. This data will not be passed on to third parties without your express consent. We would like to point out that data transmission over the Internet (e.g. communication by email) can have security gaps. It is not possible to ensure the complete protection of data against access by third parties.

Cookies

Some Internet sites use so-called cookies. Cookies do not cause any damage to your computer and do not contain any viruses. Cookies serve to make our website more user-friendly, effective and secure. Cookies are small text files that are saved by your browser and stored on your computer. Most of the cookies we use are known as “session cookies”. They are automatically deleted at the end of your visit. Other cookies remain stored on your device until you delete them. These cookies enable us to recognize your browser the next time you visit our website.

You can set your browser so that you are informed if cookies are installed, only allow cookies in individual cases, exclude the acceptance of cookies for certain cases or in general, and activate the automatic deletion of cookies when closing the browser. If cookies are deactivated, the functionality of this website may be limited. For further Privacy Setting options click here.

Server log files

The website provider automatically collects and stores information in what are known as server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. They provide the following data: browser type and version, operating system used, referrer URL, host name of the accessing computer, and time of the server request. These data cannot be assigned to specific persons. These data are not combined with other data sources. We reserve the right to check these data subsequently if we become aware of concrete indications of an illegal use.

Contact form

If you send us enquiries using the contact form, your details in the enquiry form, including the contact data you provided there, will be stored for processing the enquiry and any follow-up questions. We do not pass these data on.

Newsletter data

If you would like to subscribe to the newsletter offered on the website, we require an email address from you as well as information that allows us to verify that you are the owner of the email address provided and that you agree to receive the newsletter. Further information from you is voluntary. We use these data exclusively for the dispatch of the requested information and do not pass them on to third parties.

You can revoke your consent to the storage of the data, the email address and its use for sending the newsletter at any time, for example via the “Unsubscribe” link in the newsletter.

Google Analytics

This website uses functions of the web analysis service Google Analytics. The provider is Google Inc, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. Google Analytics uses “cookies”. These are text files that are stored on your computer and enable an analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there.

More information on how Google Analytics handles user data can be found in Google’s privacy policy:

IP anonymization

We have activated the IP anonymization function on this website. This will cause your IP address to be abbreviated by Google within Member States of the European Union or in Member States of the European Economic Area before being transmitted to the USA. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and abbreviated there. Google will use this information, on behalf of the operator of this website, to evaluate your use of the website, compile reports on website activity, and provide the website operator with other services relating to website and Internet use. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data.

Browser plugin

You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser. However, please note that if you do this, you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website. You can also prevent Google from collecting the data generated by the cookie and relating to your use of the website (including your IP address) and prevent Google from processing this data by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available under the following link: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout

You can prevent Google Analytics from collecting your data by clicking on the following link. An opt-out browser add-on is installed which prevents the collection of your data on future visits to this website: Disable Google Analytics .

Contract data processing

We have concluded a contract with Google for processing order data and fully implement the strict requirements of the German data protection authorities for the use of Google Analytics.

Google Analytics’ demographic features

This website uses the “demographic features” function of Google Analytics. This allows reports to be created that contain information on the age, gender and interests of site visitors. This data comes from interest-related advertising by Google and from visitor data from third-party providers. This data cannot be assigned to a specific person. You can disable this feature at any time from your Google Account ad preferences.

Google Analytics’ remarketing

Our website uses the functions of Google Analytics Remarketing in combination with the cross-device functions of Google AdWords and Google DoubleClick.

This feature allows us to link the advertising target groups created with Google Analytics Remarketing to the cross-device functions of Google AdWords and Google DoubleClick. In this way, interest-based, personalized advertising messages that have been customized for you on one device (e.g. cell phone) can be displayed on another of your devices (e.g. tablet or PC) depending on your previous usage and surfing behavior on that device.

If you have given your consent, Google will link your web and app browsing history to your Google Account for this purpose. In this way, the same personalized advertising messages can be displayed on any device you sign in with your Google Account.

To support this feature, Google Analytics collects Google-authenticated user IDs that are temporarily linked to our Google Analytics data to define and create audiences for cross-device advertising.

You can opt-out of cross-device remarketing/targeting permanently by deactivating personalized advertising in your Google Account, following this link: https://www.google.com/settings/ads/onweb/.

The aggregation of the collected data in your Google Account is based solely on your consent, which you can give or withdraw to Google (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR). For data collection processes that are not merged into your Google Account (e.g. because you do not have a Google Account or have objected to the merging), the collection of data is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. The legitimate interest arises from the fact that the website operator has an interest in the anonymized analysis of website visitors for advertising purposes.

Google Ads

As an Ads customer, we also use Google Conversion Tracking, an analysis service provided by Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA; “Google”). Google As installs a cookie on your computer (“conversion cookie”) if you have accessed our website via a Google ad. These cookies expire after 30 days and are not used for personal identification. If you visit certain pages of ours and the cookie has not expired, we and Google may recognize that someone clicked on the ad and was redirected to our page. Each Google Ads customer receives a different cookie. Cookies can therefore not be traced through the websites of Google Ads customers. The information collected using the conversion cookie is used to generate conversion statistics for Google Ads customers who have opted for conversion tracking. Google Ads customers see the total number of users who clicked on their ad and were redirected to a page with a conversion tracking tag. However, they will not receive any information that personally identifies users. If you do not wish to participate in the tracking process, you can also reject the installation of the cookie required for this – for example by using a browser setting that generally disables the automatic setting of cookies. You can also disable cookies for conversion tracking by setting your browser to block cookies from the “googleadservices.com” domain.

Remarketing

We use the remarketing feature within the Google Ads service. With the remarketing function, we can present users of our website on other websites within the Google advertising network (in Google search or on YouTube, so-called “Google ads” or on other websites) with ads based on their interests. For this purpose, Google stores cookies on the end devices of users who visit certain Google services or websites in the Google display network. These cookies record the visits of these users. The cookies are used to uniquely identify a web browser on a particular device, not to identify a specific individual.

Our Social Media Pages

Data Processing via Social Media Platforms

We maintain publicly accessible profiles on social platforms. The social platforms we use in detail can be found below.

Social platforms such as Facebook, Twitter etc. can usually analyze your user behavior comprehensively when you visit their website or a website with integrated social media content (e.g. like buttons or advertising banners). Visiting our social media sites triggers numerous processing processes relevant to data protection. In detail:

If you are logged into your social media account and visit our social media page, the operator of the social media platform can assign this visit to your user account. Under certain circumstances, however, your personal data may also be collected if you are not logged in or do not have an account with the respective social media platform. In this case, this data collection takes place, for example, via cookies that are stored on your terminal device or by recording your IP address.

With the help of the data collected in this way, the operators of the social media platforms can create user profiles in which your preferences and interests are stored. In this way, interest-related advertising within and outside the respective social media page can be displayed to you. If you have an account with the respective social media platform, interest-related advertising can be displayed on all devices on which you are or were logged in.

Please also note that we cannot track all processing on the social media platforms. Depending on the provider, further processing operations may therefore be carried out by the operators of the social media platforms. Details on this can be found in the terms of use and data protection regulations of the respective social media platforms.

Legal Basis

Our social media sites are designed to ensure the widest possible presence on the Internet. This is a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. The analysis processes initiated by the social media platforms may be based on different legal bases, which must be stated by the operators of the social media platforms (e.g. consent within the meaning of Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR).

Data Controller and Assertion of Rights

If you visit one of our social media sites (e.g. Facebook), we are jointly responsible with the operator of the social media platform for the data processing processes triggered during this visit. You can assert your rights (information, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, data transferability and complaint) both against us and against the operator of the respective social media platform (e.g. against Facebook).

Please note that despite our joint responsibility with the social media platform operators, we do not have full influence on the data processing procedures of the social media platforms. Our options are largely based on the corporate policy of the respective provider.

Storage Period

The data collected directly by us via the social media page will be deleted from our systems as soon as the purpose for storing it no longer applies, you request deletion, revoke your consent to storage or the purpose for data storage no longer applies. Stored cookies remain on your end device until you delete them. Mandatory legal provisions – in particular retention periods – remain unaffected.

We have no influence on the storage period of your data, which is stored by the operators of the social media platforms for their own purposes. For details, please contact the operators of the social media platforms directly (e.g. in their privacy policies, see below).
