Automating with this connector is very easy. Firstly, define the sender address for the application or source system in the E-Mail Inbound Connector. Only e-mails from this sender are processed by connector. A separate connector for the sender address is required for each source system. Then specify which of the configured actions can be started by the sender address. Only assigned actions can be started by e-mail.
Then configure the e-mail dispatch on the source system so that a valid e-mail can be sent to the ScriptRunner mailbox.
If an e-mail arrives in the ScriptRunner inbox, connector uses IMAP to access it and checks for the sender address. If it is valid, the e-mail is split into its components and the transmitted data is extracted. The system then checks whether the action can be started by connector. If so, the valid parameters are passed to the action and it starts.
