We have just released our latest ScriptRunner update, version 7.1, packed with powerful new features aimed at making IT automation more intuitive, efficient, and secure. With enhancements ranging from a highly anticipated full Dark Mode to advanced scheduling and compliance settings, this update addresses user feedback and introduces features designed to streamline workflows for IT professionals, system engineers and IT automation architects.
One of the most requested features—Full Dark Mode—is now available across the entire ScriptRunner portal. In previous versions, Dark Mode was limited to the code editor. With version 7.1, the entire user interface can now be switched to Dark Mode. This feature offers more flexibility for users who prefer a darker visual scheme, especially during long work sessions.
For users familiar with previous versions of ScriptRunner, the 7.1 update represents a major leap in usability. In older versions, configuring and executing actions required navigating through separate sections of the platform. ScriptRunner 7.1 simplifies this with a unified interface, allowing users to configure and execute actions in one place. The intuitive layout also offers quick access to scheduling and overview features, helping users stay organized and productive.
The introduction of the Time-Shifted Execution feature is a standout in this release. ScriptRunner users can now schedule and initiate future processes, such as user onboarding and infrastructure provisioning, through a new calendar interface, streamlining automation planning for greater flexibility. Additionally, users can customize parameters for each execution, ensuring maximum adaptability in complex environments. If a process changes or is no longer needed, the configuration can be updated or removed.
Example: User Onboarding process for new employees who start October 1st is scheduled for September 30th 10 am.
With ScriptRunner 7.1, you now have the ability to anonymize sensitive reporting data, ensuring that personally identifiable information (PII) and other confidential details are protected. Additionally, you can schedule the automatic deletion of reports after a specified period, helping to maintain compliance with data retention policies and reducing the risk of unauthorized access. These features provide enhanced control over report management, bolstering overall security and privacy.
With version 7.1, ScriptRunner reaffirms its commitment to listening to user feedback and delivering practical solutions. Whether it's the improved interface, flexible automation options, or enhanced security features, the latest release is designed to make life easier for IT professionals managing complex environments.
